Jay-Z will receive a reported $30 million fee to perform the Super Bowl LXI Halftime Show on February 14, 2027. The NFL, Apple Music, and the artist announced the engagement on Monday, setting the stage for his first solo appearance at the event.
Roc Nation, Jay-Z's management company, has served as the production partner for the halftime show since 2019. The firm recently signed a five-year extension that will keep it in the role through 2029. Since taking over production, the shows have featured a heavier focus on hip-hop and rap music.
Recent performances at the Super Bowl have included Bad Bunny at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, in 2025. That show featured guest appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. Other recent headliners include Kendrick Lamar and SZA in 2025, Usher in 2024, and Rihanna in 2023.
Los Angeles hosted the last Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2022. That performance featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. Cameo appearances were made by 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak. This marks the second time the show will be held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood.
Jay-Z has never previously played at the Super Bowl halftime slot. The 25-time Grammy winner has been on tour this year to mark the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint. The Jay-Z 30 Tour began with three dates at Yankee Stadium in July.
The tour continued with two shows in London and one in Paris in September. His final scheduled performances took place on October 23 and 24 at SoFi Stadium. Those concerts will serve as a direct preparation for his upcoming February performance at the same venue.
