Apple will ship iOS 27.2 to iPhone users next week.

This release follows iOS 27.1, which was restricted to the iPhone Duo model.

iOS 27.2 serves as the standard update for the wider device base.

The software package modifies three key applications.

FaceTime gains access to the Dual Capture feature in group settings.

Dual Capture debuted in iOS 27 for one-on-one calls.

The function displays front and rear camera feeds simultaneously.

Users activate the rear camera via a Flip button while the front camera remains live.

iOS 27.2 extends this capability to Group FaceTime sessions.

The update restructures the Apple Podcasts home screen.

The existing Up Next queue is divided into two distinct sections.

A new category labeled New Episodes replaces the old Up Next header to list recent releases from followed shows. A second section called Continue Playing appears below to track unfinished audio content. A 9to5Mac writer who tested the beta version described the previous layout as cluttered and confusing. The writer stated the new design helps listeners maintain better organization of their audio consumption. The Apple TV app on iPhone receives user profiles for the first time. Profiles previously existed only on the tvOS platform. Users encounter a profile selection screen upon opening the app after the update. This prompt can be disabled to prevent future appearances. The app adjusts content recommendations based on the active profile. When a child profile is selected, the interface filters content to show only age-appropriate Apple series and movies. According to 9to5Mac, this configuration separates adult viewing queues from child-friendly selections. The outlet reports that iOS 27.2 introduces new features across six iPhone applications in total.
