Pet owners seeking location technology for animals now have access to a temporary price reduction on satellite-connected trackers.
Fi has announced a 30 percent discount on several of its pet tracking devices, valid through October 25. Shoppers who enter the code SCARY at checkout will pay $209.30 for the Fi Ultra GPS model. This price point matches the device's original launch cost.
The Fi Ultra carries an IP68 rating, making it fully waterproof for use in saltwater environments. The battery provides up to five days of power, a duration that varies based on the animal's activity level. The device attaches to a collar or harness and utilizes a combination of LTE, GPS, and Starlink satellite signals to determine location. This hybrid system allows for tracking in areas without cellular service. The unit can also emit sounds and vibrations to alert a pet to its owner.
Fi identifies the device as the first dog tracker to integrate T-Satellite with Starlink, GPS, and LTE. The company tested the hardware in a remote region of South Carolina earlier this year. During that evaluation, location tracking proved precise, though the update interval ranged from two to three minutes. This lag may present challenges for highly active dogs. The battery lasted approximately two days in Lost Mode, which consumes more power than standard operation. The physical size of the unit suits larger dogs better than smaller breeds.
An active subscription is required to access tracking features. Fi offers discounted rates for the initial term of service. Plans are available in six-month, one-year, and two-year intervals, with longer commitments resulting in lower monthly costs. A one-year plan costs $99 for the first year and $189 for each subsequent year. These service plans are valid only within the United States, with no satellite coverage available in Alaska.
Other retailers are also offering discounts on consumer electronics. Amazon lists the Nintendo Switch 2 game Kirby Air Riders at $48.99, a reduction from its standard $69.99 price. The JLab JBuds Talk USB-C microphone is available for $24.99, significantly below its usual retail range of $50 to $100. The microphone features four directional modes and a 96KHz/24-bit sample rate. Lego's Star Wars Grogu set is priced at $103.99 on Amazon, representing a $26 discount from its normal price. The 1,200-piece kit includes interchangeable facial features and arms, along with a lever mechanism for head rotation.
