London police are searching for a prisoner who left a medical facility in the south-east of the city on Friday. The Metropolitan Police described Anthony Lloyd as a man who poses a risk to himself and the public.
Officers stated that Lloyd forced his way out of a health unit in Lewisham shortly after 4pm on Friday. He was last seen at approximately 4.10pm heading in the direction of Catford. Police have instructed the public not to approach the missing man and to dial 999 if they spot him.
Lloyd, 38, received a 12-month custodial sentence in 2025 for actual bodily harm. The conviction stemmed from an incident in Nottinghamshire involving three emergency services workers. He was transferred to the Lewisham medical facility in September of this year.
Detective Superintendent Melanie Pressley is leading the operation. She said officers are conducting inquiries to find Lloyd and return him to custody. Pressley emphasized the concern over the potential risk he presents. "We are concerned he poses a risk both to himself and the public, and would urge anyone who sees him to call 999 immediately. Do not approach him," she said.
Police believe Lloyd could be anywhere in the capital. They also noted that he has links to several other regions. The search area now includes Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Merseyside.
Lloyd is described as white with a medium build and short dark hair. He stands about 5ft 8in. When last seen, he was wearing a grey-blue T-shirt, black tracksuit bottoms, and white trainers. Anyone with information is asked to call 999 and quote the reference CAD4739/23Oct.
