Samsung Japan published an official schedule on October 23, 2026, detailing the rollout of One UI 9, the software interface built on Android 17. The company identified forty specific Galaxy phones and tablets slated for the update.
The timeline for Japan places the initial releases in October 2026, with remaining devices receiving the software in November 2026. While the schedule applies strictly to the Japanese market, the list of eligible hardware is expected to match the global rollout.
Flagship devices on the list include the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. Previous generation flagships also qualified, including the Galaxy S25, S25 Ultra, S24, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, S23, and S23 Ultra. Foldable models listed for the update are the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5.
Mid-range smartphones and tablets make up the rest of the roster. Samsung included the Galaxy A57, A55, A54, A36, and A25 among the phones. Tablet models on the list range from the Galaxy Tab S11 and S11 Ultra down to the Tab S9 series, Tab S10 series, and Tab A11 models. The Tab Active 5 Pro is also included.
The list omits several devices that owners might expect to see. Notably, the "Plus" versions of recent Galaxy S flagships are absent, as are many Galaxy A series models and devices sold in other regions. Samsung did not provide a specific date for when these excluded devices will receive the update.
One UI 9 launched in September 2026 on the Galaxy S26 series. The update has since reached some previous-generation devices. Samsung expects to continue the global rollout beyond the Japanese window, with entry-level devices likely to receive the software in December 2026 and January 2027.
