Police arrested a 23-year-old man on Saturday night after he shoved a bodyguard at a rally in Tel Aviv.

The suspect, who resides in Givatayim, allegedly approached the security perimeter while under the influence of alcohol. Witnesses reported he shouted the slogan “Only Bibi,” a phrase supporting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Guards instructed the man to step back, but he continued pushing toward the stage where former prime minister Naftali Bennett was speaking. Bennett, chairman of the B'Yachad party, addressed the crowd to demand the creation of a commission of inquiry into the failures surrounding the October 7 massacre.

After one guard pushed the suspect back, the man shoved the officer in return. Security personnel subdued him at the scene while officers waited for police to arrive. Officers from the local station took the suspect into custody for questioning.

The man has no prior criminal record, according to initial checks. Investigators are currently reviewing the details of the confrontation. The incident occurred days before the 2026 Knesset elections, with military personnel having already cast their ballots earlier that week.
